Clinical Activity

The Center offers a comprehensive full-time pain management medical practice.

Our facilities include:

  • an out-patient pain clinic
  • an inpatient pain service for diagnosis and treatment of patients with intractable pain, including cancer pain
  • facilities for clinical and basic research

The major focus of the Center is the multidisciplinary diagnosis and multimodal treatment of chronic pain syndromes, including:

  • chronic primary headache (e.g., migraine, tension-type headache, etc.)
  • orofacial pain (e.g., trigeminal nevralgia, TMJ syndrome, etc.)
  • other non-malignant pain syndromes (e.g., low back pain, neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia)
  • cancer pain

Patient SatisfactionSince 2000, the Center is committed to Quality of Service and Patient Satisfaction (certified ISO Euro 9001).
A comprehensive diagnostic work-up and the most advanced strategies and techniques are currently used for pain control in a supportive, compassionate approach.

These include:

  • drugs (NSAID, opiates, psychotropic and membrane stabilizers)
  • anesthesiological procedures (e.g., nerve blocks)
  • neurostimulation
  • selected neurosurgical ablative and stimulation procedures
  • psychophysiologic techniques (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapies, hypnosis, etc.)
